What do I need to use your product?

Does your product only work with SharePoint Online ( Office 365 ) or also with on-premise installations of SharePoint?
Currently our product is designed for use with SharePoint Online (Office 365). In principle, however, the product works well with on-premise or hosted SharePoint servers that are configured correctly. For details please check the system requirements in the documentation.

What does product status "Preview" mean?
In the context of cloud services many customers want an early insight into new products or technologies. With the preview phase we meet this needs. During the preview phase you will be able to test the product free of charge or at reduced prices.
Products with the status "Preview" have been thoroughly tested by us within our quality assurance procedures. Nevertheless these products may contain errors. To correct them you can make an active contribution.
Products with the status "Preview" often have a reduced functionality. Providing your feedback you have the possibility to influence the priorities for the next product version.

Configuration

I cannot adjust the SharePoint Site Url. Why?
You can only select a list from the current SharePoint site (installation location of the app). If you want to use another site, please install the app on this site and then start the app.

Why are some SharePoint columns grayed out for "Edit Field Mappings"?
You can only select columns that match the type of the selected email field.

Do you support the usage of content types ?
Currently we do not support selection of content types when configuring the fields mappings. When you create the SharePoint list item the default content type will be used. If you need the support of content types urgently, we would ask you to create an entry in our feedback section.

Can I configure multiple lists or libraries in a SharePoint site?
This feature is available in 'Premium' and 'Enterprise' plan.
Once you have subscribed for one of these plans, you can configure multiple lists or document libraries per SharePoint site to receive emails.

How do I prevent multiple identical documents?
After activating the option "Overwrite attachments" attachments with both identical name and file extension, will be overwritten.

Is there a possibility to save attachments in folders?
After activating the option "Group attachments in folders" attachments will be saved within folders in the specified document library. If "Transfer only attachments" is active supplementary, only attachments will be saved.
Email-subject or sender name can be used as folder names. You need to choose one of these options within the configuration.

I have issues with "+"-symbols within the email-address. Are there alternative ones?
Instead of the shown email-address, like "incoming.email+XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX+XXXX@office-cloud-services.com", you may use alternative ones.
Possible are "incoming.email-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX@office-cloud-services.com" or "incoming.email.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXX@office-cloud-services.com".

Security

Will my emails be stored on your server?
No, we do not store your email on our servers.

How secure are my emails processed?
Our service processes your email within an Azure data center from Microsoft. The emails are forwarded from your mailbox to a special personal email address. From there the emails are stored directly into your SharePoint site and the original is deleted afterwards.

Which user account does your software use to log in to the SharePoint server?
To access the SharePoint site the authorization context of the SharePoint app is used. This is a so-called user + app context, which means that both the app permissions and the user permissions are being used. This authorization context is valid for 6 months. Within this 6 months you must reaccess the configuration interface of the product and renew the "legitimization" of our app. If you do not use the configuration interface for a longer period, we will remind you in time before the authorization context expires.
